PSEDM Philippine Research Initiatives in Diabetes and Endocrinology

Greetings! This is to respectfully inform you that applications/submissions for the 2016 Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Research grants are now open and our secretariat will be receiving protocols until October 15, 2015. There are 4 research grants that are available: 2 grants for diabetes researches: P200,000 and 150,000, 1 grant for diabetes nutrition researches : P200,000 and the fourth is the PSEDM : P 300,000 grant for endocrinology researches.

The grants will be awarded to researches conducted by:

  1. Endocrine fellows-in-training of UP-Philippine General Hospital, Makati Medical Center, University of Santo Tomas Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center ,The Medical City, Chong Hua Hospita and Chinese General Hospital & Medical Center.
  2. Diplomates/Fellows of PSEDM in a Philippine College of Physician (PCP) accredited training hospital where the PSEDM diplomate/Fellow is either the principal or co-investigator.
  3. Diplomates/Fellows of PSEDM in a hospital which is not accredited by the PCP provided that the PSEDM member is the principal author.
  4. Graduates of PSEDM Research Workshops in a PCP accredited hospitals, where the PSEDM member is a co-investigator.

Please take note that the research grant winner will be required to present proof of ethics approval from the hospital for the research protocol to be implemented. This will be required during the awarding of the grant during the PSEDM annual convention. If this EC approval is still pending by the time of the awarding of the grant, then the first payment of the research grant will not be given until the EC approval has been granted.
